| Lately i've been noticing a lack of witches. And i've also seen that you can no longer put abj shields on mobs, whether it be to prevent them from shielding themselves from a dtype, or trying to determine what dtype you can get from find weakness. Is there any way to make find weakness a little more help? Like a number system, or show more dtypes? It seems unholy/holy/shadow/psi come up a lot. And if this is the main weakness, it will show no other types, regardless of mastery.. |

I think the ability to shield mobs was removed in order to encourage you to use dispell when they shield themselves as a more thematic approach to tactics.
Also, shielding a mob to trick the find weakness spell into revealing other dtypes, while clever, seems inconsistent with the intent of the spell.
More importantly though, the correct solution to the problem There aren't enough witches" is not "Uptune witch abilities for other classes. e

I simply said making it so you could see a damage type, not just, but 2, or 3, even 4 to 5, would be a bit more relevant, as to promote eq. I'm not even asking to change the way it works as a skill. I just think it would be smarter, for the abj guild, and as the mud as a whole, to be able to determine a real dtype a bit easier. Even removing psi/shadow/holy/unholy from find weakness would fix the problem. I'm not out trying to get something overpowered, or anything like that. If that was the case i'd discuss dragon lord, but its not. |

I don't think that having find weakness be a little more "gazeish" is enough of an "uptune" to warrant whining :p Of course I'm an abj, so maybe I'm biased. I do know this. Very few high ep races play abj. Mainly becuase you'd suck. Using it three times, and getting back one dtype, each time, each being "shadow", kind of uselessifies the skill IMO. Now I need a ref. so that I can do it three more times, get "shadow" back twice, and one that says both "shadow" and "psionic"
Thouhg you mentioned intent of the spell. What are you proposing the "nothing like gaze" intent of fw is? |

I'm confused by why you put "nothing like gaze" in quotes. In fact, that whole question is a mess. Rephrase?
Maybe my objection lies in my perception that gaze is integral to the value of a witch (not that I underestimate their debuffing) random and impinging on that is effectively weakening their value. It seems paramount to an MA saying "We should have more dtypes" or a druid saying "We need a better heal than Gaian touch"
I'm an abjurer too, and I've always viewed find weakness as a really nice utility spell that makes me feel versatile when I get to use it even with its limited functionality. |

| Regarding Korf's post above,
small correction: fw hasn't shown shadow in a while. i removed it from the list that fw can show.
otoh it probably does show psi, holy, and unholy every time. |
